The myth of Pygmalion and Galatea is one of the most influential and inspiring ancient Greek myths but I always think there are many pygmalion in our real world.
Nowadays we fall in love with a person and by the time we make a new person of him/her on our mind and finally we deeply love the imagination that we made on our mind.
The imagination of a lovely person who dosent really exist.
But there is a big difference!
There is no goddess Venus who gives life to our statues! There is no Galatea!
And we have to face with a person who is very far from our imagination!
Be careful and never think or act like Pygmalion because this failure will cost a lot for your feelings.
Live in this real and cruel world.

The Roman poet Ovid, in his Metamorphoses, Book X, relates that Pygmalion, a sculptor, makes an ivory statue representing his ideal of womanhood and then falls in love with his own creation, which he names Galatea; the goddess Venus brings the statue to life in answer to his prayer.
