The most important part of Thanksgiving is the food! There are three essential parts of the traditional Thanksgiving meal:
Stuffed Turkey, Sweet Potatoes and Pumpkin Pie
Of course, there are lots of things people eat at Thanksgiving, and not everybody eats turkey, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. But, when Americans think about Thanksgiving, they usually think about these three foods.
So, if you want to experience an American tradition you should learn how to make and enjoy all three of them!

As we all know ,under a backdrop of global economic crisis , a great amount of people might not like the amarican way of celebrating Thanksgiving Day .They think it is so much institutionalized and far removed from the original ways in which the pilgrims did hundred years ago.

I have had my first Thanksgiving day at friend of mine's place where she is american and he italian. They have cook a very traditional turkey, not so big as the US because we are in Italy but all of the other dishes was as traditional as they could made. Was very nice to have an experience of a celebration of another country and culture.
