regarding the issue of gods "testing the faith" of believers:

manar compares it to schools testing their students. Well, I am a teacher, and I test students to see how much they have learned and to see if they can apply that knowledge. When I have a very small class or a private student, I may not need to test them because I can assess them continuously. If I had perfect knowledge of my students, no testing at all would be required. 

If you assume that your god is omniscient or all-knowing (it knows everything) then why would it need to "test" your faith? Your god would KNOW if your faith was strong or weak, would KNOW if you truly believed or not.
