Hello,

How are you? If the department store or restaurant has stopped their activity and will not opne anymore (eg. after having gone bankrupt), can we say "It has shut down"? Thank you very much.

Hi! Yes, you can say that it's "shut down." However, it's more common to say that it has "closed" or "gone out of business."

Thanks!
