      May I ask the meaning of 2 sentences in the "Sherlock Holmes" lesson?

     "I don’t feel I’m giving anything away to say that his nemesis, his traditional nemesis, Moriarty, not even in this film." What does "giving anything away" in this context mean?

     "Like Rachel McAdams, Rachel McAdams was such a waste, and I love her. But I thought that that whole part of the film was a waste." What does "waste" in this context mean? It seems to be negative thing but why does Mason love?

In the first sentence, "give something away" means spoil a surprise. If you "give away" the ending of a film, you tell someone who hasn't yet seen the film how it is going to end. It ruins the movie. 

In the second sentence, Mason loves Rachel McAdams, but she didn't think she had a good role in the movie. So her appearance in the film was a "waste," because it was not used well. To "waste" something means to use it poorly.
