about some expressions

Hi! I wanna know how to tell “let alone” and “not to mention” apart? I did some research about the difference. Someone says that ”let alone” is used more in a negative statement, like” I don’t like him, let alone lend him some money.” Someone says that it’s interchangeable.

In addition, I was learning the lesson “nosey with simple future tense” earlier today. Part of the dialogue confused me. When Devan says “Don’t wait up for me.”  Jason goes “spontaneity.  ......” Is Jason making a comment on something that he thinks is spontaneous? Could you give me the complete sentence that including “spontaneity”?

Thanks :)

Hi! “Let alone” and “not to mention” do the same work in a sentence, however, some may feel that “let alone” is a bit more formal.

“Spontaneity” is a noun meaning the quality of being spontaneous.

Thanks!
