Six adjacent apartment?

I could not understand the meaning of six adjacent apartment in the English Lesson of House or Apartment such titled one.

I understand the meaning of adjacent. Could you explain the situation?

FOR PEOPLE WHO HAPPEN TO READ MY ENTRY, PLEASE SEND ANY COMMENT TO MY QUESTION. IT IS BACAUSE I EVER TRIED THIS FEATURE OF ASK EBABY! TEACHERS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE.

I mean WHY ALL OF THE SUDDEN HE USED “SIX” ? 

We can hear the noisy and uncomfortable sound from righ, left, up, down, front and back, all sides…so he might have used SIX…I imagine so.

But is it his own prefference and his own unique expression? Is “SIX ADJACENT APARTMENT” commonly uesd and  widely spread expression? Does every Americans understand SIX ADJACENT APARTMENT? THAT’S THE POINT!!!

EVERY TIME I USE EXPRESSIONS I PICKED UP AT THIS SITE IN THE CONVERSATIONS WITH NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS, MOSTLY AMERICANS.

THEY ALWAYS SAY…”I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND YOUR STRANGE EXPRESSION. WHERE DID YOU PICK IT UP? DID YOU MAKE IT BY YOUR SELF? DID ANY AMERICAN TEACH YOU SUCH STRANGE EXPRESSIONS?”

MANY AMERICAN FRIENDS SAY SO!! SO, I MAKE IT MY RULE NOT TO USE EXPRESSIONS I LEARNED HERE. BUT YOUR LESSIONS ARE VERY GOOD TO GET ACCUSTOMED TO LISTENING TO ACTIVE ENGLISH.

I HAVE A BAD HUNCH…IF I USED “SIX ADJACENT APARTMENT”, I CAN EASILY IMAGINE MY AMEIRCAN FRIENDS LAUGH AT ME SO MUCH!? “WHAT DOES IT MEAN IN THE WORLD?????”  THEY WILL SURELY SAY SO AGAIN! AM I RIGHT?

If you understand the dialogue 100% perfectly but you don’t understand the part of “six” adjacent apartment, I think you should ignore the “six”.

As good and commonly used English, this “six” means nothing special. This “six” was just used by Jason with his own sense of speech. So, you don’t have to stick to the meaning of “six”.

I, myself, don’t understand why he used SIX all of a sudden. I think it is kind of his sense of humor or something like that.

As you already noticed some expressions make no sense, but this is part of active English. In the future, you might encounter the wierd and strange expressions in Englishbaby, we are always welcome to answer you, promising you to do our best for your understanding.
