Conjunction "and"

OK. Even if she was lip synching, and I’m not convinced she was…....


In the above sentence, do you think instead of the conjunction “and” the speaker could’ve used the conjunction “though”?  The use of conjunction “and” like it has been used in the above sentence is very alien to me. So could you give me some more examples?

“Though” would make sense. But using “and” keeps the emphasis on the positive, rather than its contradiction. “And” points to addition, and “though” to contradiction. If the sentence read, “Even if she was lip synching, though I’m not convinced she was…,” my mind as a reader would go to whether or not she was lip synching, as opposed to continuing with the thought as the speaker intended.
