“Take by,” “go by,” or “stop by” all use the preposition “by” to mean a particular place.

For example, “I need to take my paper by my professor’s office” means I need to go to my professor’s office to drop off a paper.

“Let’s go by the park on the way home” means we want to spend time at the park before we go home.

“I am going to stop by my grandparents’ house this weekend” means I will visit my grandparents.

In the example from the lesson “Volunteering,” Marni is going to take Gary to the place where she volunteered to show him the work she did.
