'have something done', this sentence is base on ahmad's plan that he wanted the roof to be done. This isn't an idiom.

'Have something done' an idiom > if some body had all his money stolen.

"have something done" it means that you hire somebody or all staff to do something for you.

For example:

I have my car repaired.

It means that you gave the car to the service and a mechanic repaired it for you.
