With the Gre writing test date approaching, recently, I started to preparing it. I found it difficult writing a sound and reasonable compostion in a limited test. Gre writing tests every test takers' critical thinking and analytical writing skills and these skills are what Chinese students lack of. In the process of preparing GRE, I found a lot of things I need to work on, countless shortcomings I have to improve. There is a long way to go; after this Friday's writing test, I will start to focus on the verbal and quantitative section in Gre test. This is definitely a meaningful experience for me. I will Learn from the failure.

Just few days ago, I was totally freak out while watching a singer's amazing performance in "Super Star Avenue". His name is "Yu Chun, Lin ". With his red bow tie and pudding-bowl haircut, the 24-year-old makes an unlikely pop star. However, after he sang a pitch-perfect version of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You", every audience was so shocked, including me. How come such a wonderful voice comes from a fat boy? Of course, the judges in "Super Star Avenue" were also stunned by his excellent display at that moment! What follows is that even Yahoo! U.S posted this news on its website with the headline 'Taiwanese Susan Boyle' Channels Whitney Houston, Becomes Internet Star. The linkage is as blow. Anyone who is interested in this news can watch it by yourself.  http://tv.yahoo.com/blog/chinese-susan-boyle-channels-whitney-houston-becomes-internet-star--1137Then, I did some research about him. In one interview, he talked about his dream and what inspired him to sing, non-stop singing... Just so you know, "Yu Chun, Lin" is a fat, not good-looking guy and his father was strongly opposed to his interest in singing... but he really loves singing!  There was on time he joined a singing contest; however, unfortunately, he lost it. Even a judge in the contest made fun of him, saying that” I recommended you become a comedian in the future” He felt so embarrassed and frustrated, then when he came back to home, his father even yelled at him ” If you keep singing, then you and me will longer be father and son anymore…”  (>_<)If I were him, I would probably abandon my dream. However, his dream never dies out until he watched Susan Bolye’s singing performance with the song “The dream I dreamed”. Her rustic and sincere voice inspired him. According his saying, he said that he could not help shedding tears while listening to the lyrics of this song.

“Now the life has killed the dream I dreamed”, the last lyrics of “The dream I dreamed” is really sad but true. However, it also remains me another song “When you believe” sung by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.  “There can be miracle when you believe”. Who knows what will happens in the future if we believe our dream.

Hi Kunchen :D

I know, he's so incredibly talented ! He was born to sing, just like Susan Boyle!

Such a shame that his own father doesn't support him. I hate it when parents do not support their children's dreams, usually because they think that it's not something profitable.. as if money was everything in this world!!

I'm so glad that guy made it, he deserves it! Such a great example of perseverance and persistence .. :)

Hope he continues to sing and delight us with that beautiful voice .

From now on, I will put much more emphasis on Toeic test!!

My dear friends, do you have any idea about that??

It is just like Toefl or IELS test to judge your English ability.

Toeic is boring though, but the process of preparing for it can help me to enhance my English ability rapidly....

I took the test last year and I only got 850.

I am looking forward to see how much progress I can make during this year^^

However, the best of the best way to learn English is to join a positive English learning group like this website.

THX my friends! I learn a lot form you^^
