the Hard Work of Writing My 1000-word Paper

Now I know what painstaking efforts are! Oh, my gosh!I am writing my 1000-word paper, about social development of Chinese students. And I am facing many problems at the moment, which makes me feel annoyed.

On one hand, my limited vocabulary makes me feel it hardly a possibility to write 1000 words. You know, I am an English learner who is just going to take TEM-4, whose level is not high enough to do the great task. I can not write more than 200 words fluently.

On the other hand, I am not sure of myself being able to thinking about this topic in English, even if I can find some information on the Internet. I can’t cheat, you know, so I have to get my own thoughts. However, I am seriously lacking in opinions, especially some unique and uncommon opinions. I am a bad thinker! How could I have the ability to finish this long paper most of which are my own thoughts and my own words! But I have no choice——this is my homework and I have to finish it!

Well, where there is a will, there is a way. God bless me! I can solve it sooner or later! What’s more important, when I can do it perfectly, then I must have a lot of gains and be improved a great more!

The Finishing of My Paper

I have finished writing that paper, though it might not be very good. But I have enjoyed the prossess, and got a lot of benefits.

Since I wrote more than 1000 words this time, I won't dare to write 1000 or even a bit more. I have a experience of challenging my ablilty! There will not be anything difficult for me. I mean, I gained a lot of courage and wonderful experience.

I am so thrilled!

Well, back to the real world. I am leaving my home and going back to my college tomorrow morning. And the lives of studying at school begins on March 8th, to be exact. Then I will have a hard working schedule for the coming TEM-4 in April, which must make me out of breath...But I am sure that I will enjoyed myself in both the process and the result!

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To sima z :

Actually I had to write it, cause it was my homework.

But I enjoyed the process, and I feel very happy when I finished it. My English level is low, but I will keep practising. It feels good to write 1000 words; come on and have a try, and you can make better than me.

These days I have to look up my OALD thousands of times. Every time when I use it, I can feel I benefit a bit more. “Being a dictionary writer turned out, after all, to be very similar in many ways to being a teacher.” And the teachers offer all that they know to us learners as a very valuable source.

The key point of learning is comprehension——understanding every word, sentence and passage and then infer what the authors want to express. First we understand the language and then we make use of it in our own speaking or writing. During the long and endless process, dictionaries do a great help.

That’s why when I have questions, most of the time I can find the answers in the dictionaries.

I extremely appreciate the chance I've got here to learn and enjoy life. Thank goodness I come here!

This is my first entry at this website, and I would like to make a brief introduction. I live in China and am learning English as my major in college. Though I am a sophomore at this moment, I find my English level need being improved urgently, both orally and in written part.

Time can heal anything! We all will get improved some time later. Just like what I gained several months before, learning needs patience! Since we have the chance to learn, we should treasure it and try our best!

To englishteacher24/7:

Very glad to meet you, too. And thanks for your comments.

I will keep on improving my oral English and pay more attention to the phrases and idioms...Focus on spoken English at the same time--that is the keys to communicating well with others.

Hello Daisy_ZhuYan,

Glad to meet you, I live in the United States, Los Angeles area.  I agree with you that we should value every opportunity that God gives us, since we should not take things for granted.

Your written English is very good and I would like to encourage you to continue improving to understand the many phrases (idioms) used in daily American life. I plan to write a blog here on idioms to help the readership learn and be able to understand the meaning of context which are spoken.  Stay tuned (remain focused on what is coming)!
