Yeah, carnival from Salvador is the BEST ! I love it too!! Yes, Santa Catarina was colonized for german ! :) This year we have a theme of germany in a parade of samba school in sao paulo ! :)

heheh, we are celebrating Carnival today in Germany too
but, for sure, it s soo different to brasilian carnival
the best I have seen had been in Salvador di Bahia. it s not soooooooooo huge, like in Rio but not sooo violent. No one have been killed there and no one robbed
