‘Agrarheute’ says that vets warn about some illegal, not approved medicine and vaccine against classical swine fever. This medicine that first appeared in China may have some unhealthy effects on the meat of these pigs.

‘GEA’ says that the increase of swine flu in China definitely is going to influence the prices of pork and sausage in Europe and America as well. In fact any product made of pigs now may become a bit more expensive.

>‘Agrarheute’ says that due to a drought the enterprise ‘Ahus’ now needs to harvest their corn for cattle food, pig food and poultry food much earlier than would be good. However last year they did the same, also arguing with a drought.
>‘Agrarheute’ also says that the price of pork or even for living pigs is going to drop in Germany, of course making trade with living or dead pigs less profitable.

The German newspaper ‘GEA’ says that this week 2.500 pigs got burned alive when a feed-lot in Kolbow (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern/ Germany) caught fire. Also the material damage was immense. Luckily no human beings were hurt.

The German Ministry for the Safety of Food (Bundesamt für Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit) now warns about the following products:
>ground pork produced by ‘Gut Erkenloh Fleischvertriebs GmbH’ as it may contain listeria,
>barn eggs produced by Sonnendorfer GmbH as they may contain salmonella,
>damse mokke (cheese) and brie produced by Damse Kaasmakerij, both of which may contain listeria.
