ScienceBoy, it inhabits river banks in Central and South America (and in big houses with pools sometimes), so we can hardly hope to see it in our countries… it’s a pity.
Capybaras have been used as lenten fare for centuries. Catholics claimed it was a fish :D

Capybaras seem to be always calm. Other animals can sit on them or play with them. I’d like to have such self-control and friendliness :)
It’s one of the world’s most peculiar pets. It weights from 60 to 150 pounds and love to swim, so I have to buy a bigger house with a pool, before keeping this creature.
