11 String Uyghur Khushtar with bow
This 11 String Khushtar is made from the wood of a mulberry tree. This version has four playing strings, and 7 sympathetic strings. It is decorated with intricate inlaid plastic designs. Each instrument is lovingly hand-crafted, and no two are exactly the same. The playing strings are tuned to the normal western scale (1-G 2-D 3-A 4-E). If you can play a Violin or Viola, you can learn to play the Khushtar in no time. The Khushtar´s beautiful form and resonate sound has made it a mainstay of Uyghur Orchestras. As our gift, we also enclose copies of: the “Red Rose” CD, along with a tuning guide, music scores, a muqam poster . Each of our musical instruments is carefully packed into a custom built , sturdy wooden box to ensure its safe arrival at your home. An optional soft case is available for $60. Please allow 20 to 30 days for shipping. We understand this is a long wait, but our customers agree that the wait is worth it.Also, please note, when you pay (through PayPal), it takes two weeks for PayPal to release the funds to us. Once the funds have been released they are then transfered to the instrument maker in Kashgar , China . This means that it will take a little while for the instrument to be ordered and sent.
