The slang is the biggest difference. Really, there are a few spelling differences, such as Airplane for the US is Aeroplane for the British. With most spelling differences, Canada is usually the same as Britain, but different from the US. The slang words are what really make the difference though. Another one is in England, pretty girls are called "birds", and in the US and Canada, they're called "chicks". What Americans call a bathroom is called a "loo" in Britain, in Britain, a friend is called a "mate", but in America,"Mate" means to breed…or have sex with. In Britain, the word for a random man, is a "chap" or a "bloke". In America, we just say,"A guy" In Britain, a cigarette is called a "Fag", while, in America and Canada, a "fag" is a homosexual man. So, when a british person says,"I want a fag" in America, it makes everyone laugh!
