You know "box clever" is a way you cope with not comfortable situation :)

Boxing clever means the way someone dodges or avoids a tricky situation. Natakia was correct. It could come from the British court system where someone sits in the witness box and must speak the truth. It could also come from actual boxing, meaning fighting with fists, and how you have to be smart and avoid punches in order to win the fight.
