still the weekend problems

I have a problem with "on the weekend". Does that mean "on weekends" or "this weekend"?  There's a sentence saying "what do you do on the weekend?" in the textbook. Does that ask your plan for the coming weekend or  what you usually do on weekends"? It'd been bothering me for a while. Can you help me out?

Hi! Yes in your textbook when it says "what do you do on the weekend" it means weekends in general. Usually when asking about someone's plan for the weekend we say "this weekend": "What are you doing this weekend." But we can also say "on the weekend" in this situation. It's just less common.
