Hi! Great question. The expression is actually "up IN arms," not "up ON arms." The first sentence works best: "you need to be up in arms with them." However, this is not a perfect use of this term. "Up in arms" means very angry. So the best thing to say would be something like, "These kids are quite a handful, and I am up in arms over their behavior."
