Pronunciation

Do you think the British pronunciation of the words “torque” and “talk” are one and the same? (The American pronunciation of the two words are different though!)

As a matter of fact I checked out www.howjsay.com yesterday and I was surprised to learn that the pronunciation of ‘torque” and “talk’ are almost the same! In British non-rhotic accent (commonly known as RP) the letter “r” is not pronounced at all as opposed to the American accent. For example, if you consider the word “Car”, in British accent the first consonant [k] and the  long vowel sound [a:] followed by it are pronounced distinctively but the final consonant sound  [r] is completely hushed. But whatever it is, my request to you is, can you please check out www.howjsay.com and confirm with me regarding the pronunciation of the two words?
