what is the correct form whether I am now a designer?


I did an apprenticeship as designer or


I made an apprenticeship as designer or


I have made an apprenticeship as designer.


...or something other? ;)

You could say this in several different ways. For example, “I completed/finished an apprenticeship with a designer,” or “I apprenticed with a designer,” or “I was an apprentice to a designer.”


Using the verb to make would not be the correct form. Using the verb to do is OK, but the above forms are best.

It would be correct to say, “I finished an apprenticeship as a designer/bus driver/baker.” Be sure to include the article a!
