Steph: Did you watch The Oscars?
Derek: Um, no, I didn’t but I’ve, I heard a lot about it. I was reading about it the day after.
Steph: Oh, that’s cool. Who won, uh, most of the movie awards?
Derek: It seems that The Million Dollar Baby won a lot of them.
Steph: Huh. I haven’t seen that movie yet. Have you?
Derek: Yeah. I haven’t seen it either, but, uh, ya know, I’ve been hearing an awful lot of good things about it. And I think I might head out to see it at some point soon.
Steph: Were they predicting that it would win a lot?
Derek: Oh yeah. Definitely.
Steph: Really?
Derek: I think they predicted that one and, um, the one with Jamie Foxx in it.
Steph: Ray?
Derek: Yeah. That was the one.
Steph: Oh yeah. Huh, yeah. I heard that was a good movie too. Anything about music is always gonna do really well, so.
Derek: Yeah. That seems to be the case.
Steph: And it’s very timely because he just recently died.
Derek: Right. So it’s a good memorial movie.
Steph: Yeah. That’s true. I’m sad I missed it but, hey, I was busy.
Derek: Yep. So was I, but maybe next year.
Steph: Yeah. Maybe we’ll be there next year.
Derek: Oh.
Steph: Oh.

Discussion
Too bad I had a barbeque that day. At the barbeque, it was a big topic of conversation though.
We talked about who we thought would win and any time one of the guests went inside, they would check out the TV room.
I often wait till after The Oscars to see the most popular movies. This year, there is a lot of catching up to do!
