In May of 1996, famous rapper and actor Tupac Shakur was killed in Las Vegas. Just 6 months later, another famous rapper, the Notorious B.I.G. (AKA “Biggie”) was killed as well. Many people think the two killings were related. Unfortunately, both are unsolved, so nobody really knows what happened.
Recently, a British filmmaker released a documentary movie called Biggie and Tupac. In the movie, the filmmaker suggests that he knows the story behind both murders. Read on to learn more.

Migs: How was that Tupac/Biggie movie you saw the other night?
Johh: It was good. I hadn’t seen any other documentaries about those two killings. So, a lot of it was first time information for me.
Migs: So, was it conclusive? Like, did you believe that they discovered and answer to the mystery?
John: Well, you know the story, right? About how the, how Tupac was killed and then Biggie was killed, and at first they thought it was an East Coast/West Coast rivalry thing?
Migs: Well yeah, I followed that, but then there was something about, uh, some rumor that the police were involved, right?
John: Yeah. So this movie says that the police were the, the ones that actually did the killing. And it was a conspiracy by the Los Angeles police department. So, it’s pretty far-fetched, but the way they pitch it, it sounds like it could actually be the case.
Migs: Alright. Well, is it like an entertaining movie? Was it worth watching?
John: Yeah. I thought it was really cool. You know, it was a pretty serious topic and it was really informative, but there was also a lot of humor in it, so…
Migs: Was there anything actually about the music, or was it just about the murders and the investigation?
John: There was very little about the music. There wasn’t anything about their concerts, or touring, or what kind of music they made.

I’m not sure I believe the things suggested by the Biggie and Tupac movie. It doesn’t seem possible that the police would take part in such terrible events. I hope that someday the crimes are solved and we know what the real truth is. I’m still very sad that both rappers are gone. They were both incredibly talented.
Are you a rap fan? Do like Tupac’s music? What about Biggie’s? Come to the Music Mix message board and let us know!
Rock on,
