John: I hear Britney’s back in the news.
Dave: Yeah, she just gave birth to her baby, and, uh, she had some professional photographs taken with her cuddling up to the baby, and the publisher just said that someone snatched the originals of the photographs.
John: Really?
Dave: Yeah.
John: Or maybe the photographer sold them for a bunch of cash.
Dave: I’m wondering.
John: Yeah, she’s so in the public eye, anytime something happens, photos like that are worth a lot of money.
Dave: Yeah they are. So she came out on the news recently all teary-eyed saying, you know, this is really unacceptable that somebody’s trying to sell my photos on the black market. And she’s threatened a lawsuit against any magazine that publishes them.
John: Well, that makes sense. You know, hopefully, hopefully this time in the media is going to be a little bit better than her recent stint on tv. Did you ever see that show with her, with her fiance, where they carried around a video camera?
Dave: No, no.
John: And taped each other in hotel rooms and all their fights, and she’s smoking and she just looks terrible!
Dave: Like a ‘Reality Life with Britney’?
John: Yeah, it was like the, ah, Jessican Simpson and Nick show…
Dave: Okay.
John: ...The Newlyweds.
Dave: Yeah.
John: Ah, but it was just a trashy version of that.
Dave: Oh.
John: You should see it. It’s on VH1. I think they’re doing the re-runs right now.
Dave: Yeah, I’ll keep my eye out for that.

Celebrities are very protective of their babies. Michael Jackson, when he is not holding his babies over the edges of balconies, makes his children wear masks in public. Madonna doesn’t let her children eat ice cream or watch tv. Eminem sued another rap artist for using his daughter’s name in a song. It’s got to be difficult to raise a child in the public eye.
