Emily: Have you read DaVinci Code?
Dave: Well, I read it, I read it when I was in Thailand, and I was resistant to it because it was one of these pop culture, popular books.
Emily: Mm hmm. What did you think?
Dave: I read it and I was really impressed. I liked it. It’s, like, smart, smart…
Emily: Interesting.
Dave: ...fiction, and interesting.
Emily: Yeah.
Dave: But very controversial, right? The Catholic Church has come out against it. Opus Dei, um, is not portrayed in a very nice light.
Emily: No. So, are you going to see the movie?
Dave: Yeah, I’m actually really excited to see the movie. I like Tom Hanks, first of all. Ron Howard directs it.
Emily: Yeah.
Dave: I think it’ll be a good movie. It’s supposed to be the first summer blockbuster.
Emily: Yeah. I think it’ll be either really good or really stupid.
Dave: That’s how it usually goes.

The book The DaVinci Code has sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making Dan Brown one of the most successful and wealthy fiction writers of all time.
Ever since the book was released in 2003, the Catholic Church has criticized the book for misrepresenting important elements of the Christian faith.
The DaVinci Code contains a lot of secret messages and codes. The book even refers to Kryptos, a statute located at CIA headquarters that contains a number of secret messages. No one, not even the most talented code-breakers in the U.S. military, has been able to break the entire code for Kryptos.
Think you can do it?
