Hi Friends!
New York is a great city. In addition to all the interesting museums, galleries, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions, the city is also filled with interesting people. Most of those people are just regular citizens of the city, but some of them are famous athletes, artists, musicians, writers, poets, actors and actresses.
John was recently in New York and was lucky enough to spot a couple of famous folks. Listen in to his conversation with Beth to hear all about it!

John:  I’m feeling pretty cool coming back from my trip to New York.

Beth:  Nice. What went on there?

John:  Well, I, I ran into two celebrities there.

Beth:  No way! Who did you see?

John:  I saw Janet Jackson in a little boutique shop and then I was walking down Broadway and saw Winona Ryder.

Beth:  That’s so cool! Did you, uh, stop and say anything to them, or did you just check them out and keep on going?

John:  Well, I spent some time shopping with Janet. I just went into the store for a minute, just to look around, and she was in there with a friend, so I stuck around for about twenty minutes. And, uh, Winona was just in a huge rush running down the street, so I didn’t have time to do anything.

Beth:  That’s cool. You could be like a celebrity personal shopper.

John:  I was thinking about busting out my, my digital camera and taking some pictures like the paparazzi.

Beth:  That would be awesome.

Discussion

John is one lucky guy. I’ve been to New York several times, but I’ve never seen anyone famous. I’m not sure why not. It seems like all my other friends end up seeing celebrities when they visit New York, but for some reason I’m never in the right place at the right time. Either that or I’m just not paying attention.
New York is a fun place to visit, whether you’re interested in seeing celebrities or not. I definitely recommend it as a place to go if you’re traveling in the U.S.
Have a great week!
