Hi Friends!
Surfing is one of the coolest sports there is. Experienced surfers can do some truly impressive things. They can do amazing tricks and surf huge waves that are taller than a house.
Have you ever been surfing? I haven’t gone yet, but I’m getting more and more intrigued by the sport. Beth went for the first time last weekend, and it sounds like she really enjoyed it. Listen to her conversation with Zach and hear what she has to say about it.

Zach:  Hey Beth, what’d you do this weekend?

Beth:  I actually went to the beach and I tried surfing for the first time. It was really fun.

Zach:  Wow. Who’d you go with?

Beth:  I went with my sister. She’s really into surfing. She’s been doing it for about three years. So, she gave me a full-on lesson and let me borrow her wetsuit, and we rented some boards at a shop near the beach.

Zach:  Nice. So she was there showing you all the ropes?

Beth:  Basically. She… I couldn’t have done it without any instruction. I would have been completely lost. But, it was fun. I mean, it’s, it’s really challenging, so I can’t really brag about how great I did.

Zach:  Did you catch any waves?

Beth:  Oh yeah. They were huge. The swell was supposedly the best it’s been all season. So, it was pretty big by my standards at least.

Zach:  That sounds awesome.

Anna sounds pretty fired up about her surfing experience. I bet she becomes a serious surfer. She already does a lot of snowboarding in the winter, so maybe surfing will become her summertime sport.
One of my good friends lives in Hawaii and does a lot of surfing. She’s been doing it for several years, so she’s able to a lot of cool tricks. I love to watch her surf, because some of the things she does are totally unbelievable.
Have a great week!
