Fall means shorter, darker days and colder, drearier weather. But it also means snuggling up under the covers with a good book, pulling your coziest sweaters and scarves out of the closet, and enjoying comforting, warming foods like soup, pumpkin pie, and apple cider.

Of course, seasons are different all over the world. When it’s monsoon season in India, it’s hot and dry in Europe and the cool season in Australia. Even in the U.S., the seasons differ from state to state. Parts of California are warm and mild all year, while New York has a hot, humid summer and a cold, snowy winter.

The northeastern U.S. is known for having especially beautiful autumns. There’s even a special name for when people go to see the leaves change colors on the trees there. It’s called leaf-peeping. Find out if Mason and Marni will be doing any leaf-peeping this autumn, or if they plan to stay snuggled up inside instead.

Mason:  So you may have noticed my outfit, I’m super fall-colored out today.

Marni:  You are.

Mason:  Yeah. I love fall.

Marni:  As do I, it’s my absolute favorite season.

Mason:  Mine too, but so why yours? Because there’s plenty of fall-haters out there.

Marni:  Right. Well, when I was little it was like my birthday’s in October, so I think it was synonymous with that. But as I grow older I think there’s just something very nostalgic about the changing of the seasons and that feeling in the air. The days get shorter…

Mason:  Rebirth. No wait, that’s spring. Decay…

Marni:  Well, I just…the leaves changing colors to me, there’s something very magical about that.

Mason:  It’s super pretty. I think that the changing of the fall leaves is way prettier than blooming of things in spring. Yeah, and I may be in the minority here, but I like that it gets colder. I like that I get to start bundling up and there’s that crispness to the air as it starts to cool down, and it’s just got that like…your cheeks start tingling a bit.

Marni:  Right.

Mason:  I love it.

Mason and Marni both love the fall. Mason loves it so much that he’s even wearing an outfit of fall colors, like orange, brown, and dark red.

When Marni was a kid, she loved fall because that’s when her birthday is. As an adult, she appreciates the beautiful colors of fall and the cooler, crisper weather. Mason enjoys bundling up in the fall. He thinks autumn is even prettier than spring.

Do you have a favorite season? What is the fall like in your country? What do you like to do when the weather gets cooler?

I don't like fall.I like it opposite the spring. As we don't have such type of trees and plants which change their color and their leaves look wonderfull when the sun ligt passing through.in fall our area look realy baren as the palnts and trees have lost their leaves.the weather look some thing like when a lover lost his beloved.

Viet Nam

I really like the fall, especially seeing the leaves changed the color and fall down ! how romantic it is ! unfortunately, I only can enjoy this beautiful scene on the film, on TV, as in Vietnam we only have 2 seasons: rainy and dry. But, some days lately the weather gets colder and colder as Noen holidays is coming. I like cold weather as I have a chance to wear sweaters which I have kept in the cabinet for many months as we usually suffer the very hot weather. In EU, there are many places with beautiful autumn especially for yellow- leaf- trees and red-leaf-trees. I hope that  in the near future, I will see these things in my real eyes, not by watching on TV anymore Laughing
