Sara

Steph:  Hey, Sara, thanks for all your help on the CD release party. It was so good to have you around.

Sara:  You’re so welcome. Did it go really well?

Steph:  It did. And, ya know, thanks to that press release that you gave me, that was awesome. I totally sent it out to all the media and we got a good response.

Sara:  That’s awesome. Did some media show up? Or did anybody, like write anything, or?

Steph:  Uh, we had a few write-ups, um, before the show but as far as at the show, we didn’t really have any media there.

Sara:  But at least they wrote it up beforehand so people knew to be there, right?

Steph:  Yeah. It was awesome. We got on the calendars and then we got, like, some paragraphs written in a couple of the weeklies.

Sara:  That is awesome! I am so excited. So how many people do you think were there?

Steph:  There were over a hundred people there.

Sara:  Awesome. Did he sell a lot of CDs too?

Steph:  Um, he sold a good amount of CDs and he raised $300 for the music school.

Sara:  Oh. That’s so great! I bet they were excited.

Steph:  Totally.

Sara:  Awesome.

Discussion

Coordinating people for an event can be tough work. It’s important to have the right people on your team.
For this CD release party, Sara created all of the press releases and media alerts. Another friend, Marie designed the CD packaging and posters. Steph’s job was to coordinate and get the information to the media and get the CDs manufactured.
Have you ever put on an event like this? What kinds of problems do you think could occur?
