There are many ways to work out. Working out means exercising or being physically active. If you participate in a sport, such as weight lifting, swimming, ice skating or running, you work out.

Usually, people work out to stay in good physical condition. Some people like to get up early in the morning and work out before going to work at their job. They might go to a gym or play basketball in their neighborhood. Either way, they are working out.

Work out is also a noun. If you do something physically difficult, like climb a lot of stairs, you can say, “That was a work out!” when you are finished.

I can believe that Butta,

I remember trying out for a free Pilate class one time, when I left I felt so sore my pores were screaming in pain…

since then, I never underestimate any activity that requires a lot of flexibilty and endurance, I think dancing has both if not more.

If this isn’t the shortest lesson and video I’ve seen…wow! English, Baby!!! (:

Working out should not be considered a chore, it’s should be more like a hobby for it can be fun.

Think of all the fun stuff you do: Biking, hiking, rifting, kayaking, swimming, or maybe just a casual walk around your neighborhood, if you do any of those activities regularly… it’s it working out. Basically anything that requires a certain amount of force to be used constantly and throughout a significant span of time is also working out.

Working out on a regularly basis is before everything, beneficial to one’s health. It rids the body of excessive fats; strengthen our immune system which renders us less vulnerable to getting sick. It also can serve as means to deter stress and anxiety into our lives, if not totally, but keep them at a manageable and bearable level. To put it simply, working out contributes to one’s overall well-being.

However if you have a hectic lifestyle, in which your job or familial responsibilities, or a combination of both, leaves you with not sufficient free time, working out in that case can be an hassle; that’s the most commonly used alibi by the way (I’m too busy). Let’s go back to the activities I mentioned earlier and let’s try to implement them in your busy schedule: you can ride your bicycle to work every now and then, cant you? Instead of calling up a co-worker, you could walk to his office instead, no? Do you really need to get on the elevator when you’re only going up one flight? Etc… and they are many activities you can enjoy while you’re tending to your kids that are good work outs, swimming, walk around a park you name it.

But unfortunately other than the time constraint, working out brings out another challenge… having the perpetual will power. Of course you can get a gym membership, and have a personal trainer or have friends to motivate you, but all that aren’t going to work out if you don’t have the drive to do it. The only thing I can suggest is to have a goal a realistic one, and reward yourself as you’re getting closer and closer to achieving it.

I’m not a gym rat, I don’t have abs of steel, but I work out by riding my bicycle and walking and jogging regularly.

What are your excuses? :)

Tip: work out, eat healthy and be patient.
