Below is a sample conversation between me and my doctor’s office. I made an appointment several weeks ago. I now want to make sure that I have the right day and time before I go there.

Receptionist: Okay. What’s the name?
John: John.
Receptionist: And the day and time?
John: Wednesday, 3:00pm.
Receptionist: Great. Let me see… I don’t see you down here. Are you sure it’s at 3:00?
John: Oh, I’m sorry. It’s at 12:00.
Receptionist: Oh, okay. There you are. Yes, you’re confirmed for 12:00 Wednesday.
John: Thanks so much.
Receptionist: You’re welcome.
John: Bye
