For some reason, many women think Sean Connery is a handsome and attractive man. I think he’s a great actor, but I don’t spend much time thinking about his looks. John probably doesn’t either.
Take a minute and listen to Tanis and John discuss Connery and his latest movie, Finding Forrester.

Dialog

1. Listen and Read - Listen to the audio and read the dialog at the same time.

Tanis

John

Tanis: You know who I think is a really good looking older man?

John: Who?

Tanis: Sean Connery!

John: Oh yeah? Even though he’s like 75?

Tanis: Oh yeah… He, he’s just, dashing. I think.

John: Is it that beard of his, or what?

Tanis: I think it’s his accent, and then he seems to have, you know, a certain spirit, always. Like, no matter what role he’s playing, he always has kind of a, a charm.

John: Have you seen him in that, in Finding Forrester?

Tanis: No! I heard that was good though. Have you seen it?

John: Yeah. I just saw it a couple weeks ago. It’s really good.

Tanis: Oh really. What’s it about?

John: It’s kinda like Good Will Hunting. You know, it’s this young guy from the projects that, um, has this really good writing ability and then Sean Connery comes in and helps him out with it.

Tanis: Oh. Is the young guy Matt Damon?

John: No. Matt Damon has a cameo in the picture though.

Tanis: Oh really, I didn’t know that. That’s neat. Um…

John: But I’m not, I don’t think Sean Connery looks so good. You know, he’s kind of this guy, this hermit that lives in his apartment and doesn’t get out much. And he’s not looking his best. So you should see it. It will show you a different side.

Tanis: Well does he still have his accent?

John: He still has a little bit of the accent, yeah.

Tanis: Then I’m OK.

John: So that’s what does it for you, right?

Tanis: Yeah.

John: OK.

We learned Sean Connery’s secret! It’s the accent that makes women love him!
Finding Forrester was a good movie. Rob Brown gives a great performance. It’s his first movie, so he should be very proud of himself. The movie takes place in New York, so it’s a great movie to watch if you’re interested in learning more about what it’s like to live in an American city.
