Tanis:  Hey Nedra!

Nedra:   Yeah?

Tanis:   I rode my bike past your boyfriend’s new house!

Nedra:   Oh yeah?

Tanis:  Yeah! And I thought that it looked just like that house from “The Money Pit!”

Nedra:   Oh yeah, the movie where this young couple gets this really low price on a house and then it starts falling apart on them.

Tanis:   Yeah! The whole house falls apart!

Nedra:   That was a really funny movie actually.

Tanis:   Yeah. I thought that it was a pretty funny too. I saw it a long time ago but I remember the raccoon in the dumb waiter. It’s really kind of unrealistic… I mean…

Nedra:   Uhh humm…

Tanis:   ...every conceivable thing that could go wrong with the house goes wrong with the house.

Discussion

The Money Pit” wasn’t successful at the box office or with the movie critics, but I think it’s a pretty entertaining movie. It’s even more enjoyable to watch after you’ve moved into a “fixer-upper” house.
