Margaret: Your son? *
Jasmine: He’s my angel.
Margaret: Was his father stationed here?
Jasmine: He wasn’t his father. I was kinda hoping he’d want the job, though.
Margaret: So what do you do for a living?
Jasmine: I’m a dancer.
Margaret: Really? Ballet?
Jasmine: (laughs) No. Exotic.
Margaret: Oh, sorry.
Jasmine: Don’t be. I’m not. It’s good money. Besides, he’s (her son) worth it.
Margaret: And when the dancing’s over? What about your future?
Jasmine: Funny, it used to scare me when I thought about the future. Guess it doesn’t really matter anymore. Dylan, come here. I want you to meet the First Lady.
Margaret: (surprised) _I thought you didn’t recognize me.
Jasmine: *Didn’t want to say anything. I voted for the other guy.

Discussion
This conversation is between two middle-aged women. One is very sophisticated, and the other is middle-class. Can you tell the difference? This movie was the first of several that have aliens or asteroids coming from outerspace. With Will Smith, it was one of the more entertaining, too. He is a great comedian, and he makes movies much better. I give it a 6 out of 10. Have you seen this movie and you want to share your opinion? Or maybe you have seen another movie recently you want to talk about? Well, come to the “Movie Madness” message board and tell us about it! From the front row, John
