Joe

Miguel: How was The Time Machine?

Joe: It was great. It wasn’t as good as the original one though.

Miguel: What’s the original? You mean original movie or the book?

Joe: Well, the book and the movie by H.G. Wells[/def].

Miguel: So, you read that book? Isn’t it really long?

Joe: Uh, yeah, kind of.

Miguel: So, did the movie do the book justice?

Joe: Uh, it did.

Miguel: What was the best part of it?

Joe: The best part of the movie was the actual time machine. It looked cool how they had designed the time machine.

Miguel: So, the special effects were pretty good?

Joe: The special effects were good, yeah.

Miguel: Like, it compares to The Matrix or it’s not quite that cool?

Joe: No, not as cool as The Matrix, but it was still pretty cool to see him go from where he was to the future in seconds.

Miguel: So, tell me real quick, what’s the basic story? Why does he travel around time?

Joe: Because his fiancée was shot and killed and he tries to go back in time to change it.

Miguel: Oh, so he wants to go back and like save her life.

Joe: Right.

Miguel: So, why does he travel far into the future, ’cause the time machine is messed up or something?

Joe: No, he travels into the future to figure out the reason why he can’t save her life in the past.

Miguel: Oh, I see very complicated. So should I see the movie?

Joe: No, wait for it on video.

Miguel: Okay, good to know.

Discussion

Wouldn’t it be fun to travel into the future and see how things would change? Will people fly around in cars like in the movie, Back to the Future II? Will our environment be destroyed or will humans use up our natural resources? There are so many deep issues to think about and that’s why I think it’s fun to watch movies like The Time Machine. They really make you wonder how civilization will change and how it will survive.
In The Time Machine, Alexander Hartdegan builds a time machine to save the woman he loves from being killed. Why would you use a Time Machine? Would be just for fun or to help prevent wars, disease, poverty, or other horrible things that happen? Let me know on the Movie Madness message boards.

yeah.we watched it in english class….but i couldnt see the last part:(but it was funny…heh the man was going crazy…every backing time the woman had died by different ways…He didnt changed the destiny with his machine…then he went to future which there was no land…then monsters bla bla bla…that's all i remember:P
