美国当选总统巴拉克.奥巴马今天(星期五)将在芝加哥和他的经济团队开会,并举行他赢得总统大选以来的首场记者会。

U.S president-elect Barack Obama is meeting today (Friday)with his economic team in Chicago and holds his first news conference since winning the election. 

 再过大约10个星期,奥巴马将就任总统,接手处理美国自大萧条以来最严重的经济危机。针对奥巴马行政当局人选的猜测越来越多,包括财政部长。预计奥巴马不久将宣布这一人选。 

 Mr. Obama is about 10 weeks from taking office and inheriting the country's worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Speculation is mounting about his administration choices, including Treasury secretary, which he is expected to announce soon.   

奥巴马挑选的白宫办公厅主任伊曼纽尔星期四接受了这一任命。伊曼纽尔是来自伊利诺伊州的国会众议员,曾经在前总统克林顿手下任职。奥巴马在声明中称伊曼纽尔是个“好朋友”。他说,他知道伊曼纽尔“完成任务”的能力无以伦比。

 Mr. Obama's pick for chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, accepted the job Thursday. Emanuel is an Illinois congressman who also served under former President Bill Clinton. In a statement, Mr. Obama called Emanuel a "good friend" and said he knows no one better at "getting things done." 

 伊曼纽尔说,他将竭尽所能,帮助当选总统奥巴马把美国人民团结起来,实现美国需要的改变。

He will try his best to help the new president Obama to unit the whole American people together,to achieve the changes which America needs.Emanuel said he will do everything he can to help the president-elect unite Americans and deliver the change the country needs.

 美国失业率上升 ( US Jobless Rate Soars) US Jobless rate soars 美国10月份的失业率飙升到14年来最高点,更加证明这个世界最大的经济体正走向衰退。  

 The U.S. unemployment rate soared to a 14-year high in October, more evidence that the world's largest economy is moving toward a recession. 

 美国劳工部星期五公布的报告说,失业率上升将近0.5%,达到6.5%10月份净损失24万个工作。这使美国失业总人数超过1千万。 

 Today’s(Friday’s)report from the labor department says the jobless rate rose nearly half percent to six-and a half percent,while the economy had a net loss of 240 thousand jobs for the month.That boosts the total number of unemployed Americans to more than 10 millions.

 Economists interviewed by news organizations call the U.S.job market bleak and getting worse.Job losses hit manufacturing,building,finiancial companies particularly hard.
