Mapo doufu (Mapo tofu) is a popular Chinese dish from the Sichuan (Szechuan) province. It is a combination of tofu (bean curd) and minced meat, usually beef, in a spicy chili- and bean-based sauce, typically a thin, oily, and bright red suspension.
