Sometimes, when you watch movies, you want to be like the characters in the movie. This happens when the characters have some quality that you’d like to have.
Other times, you definitely don’t want to be in their shoes. Their lives are so messed up that you don’t want to admit that the story could happen in real life.
That’s what happened to Steph last week.

Steph

John

Steph:  Hey, John. Thanks for those movie tickets you gave me for Christmas.

John:  Oh. No problem. Hopefully they went to good use.

Steph:  Yeah. Totally. I took my girlfriend out and we went to see a movie called Closer.

John:  Oh. I’ve heard about that. Is it good?

Steph:  Well, ya know, it kinda made me realize that I’m really happy that I was not a character in one of those movies.

John:  I heard it’s kind of disturbing. Was it?

Steph:  It was. There were two couples. And they lived together, both of them, and they were both sleeping around with each other. And it was awful!

John:  Oh, man.

Steph:  I know. When you’re in a relationship, you’re supposed to be committed.

John:  I heard that if you’re in a relationship, you probably shouldn’t see that ‘cause it makes you a little worried.

Steph:  That’s why I didn’t bring my boyfriend.
