The past week has been one of the most traumatic weeks of my life. Like everyone else, I was shocked and saddened by the tragic events in New York City and Washington DC.
It’s still hard to believe what happened. I wake up every morning hoping that it was all just a bad dream. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. The news reports continue to tell the same story. The World Trade Center is gone, the Pentagon is in flames, and more than 5,000 people are presumed dead.
There isn’t an easy way to get over the overwhelming devastation, but listening to music helps. Music has the power to soothe the soul.
One of the soothing songs that people around the world have been listening to and singing is “Amazing Grace.” Read the lyrics below:

AMAZING GRACE
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
T’was Grace that taught
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
we have already come.
T’was Grace that brought us safe thus far
and Grace will lead us home.
And when this heart
and flesh shall fail
and mortal life shall cease.
I shall possess
within the vale
a life of joy and peace.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

Discussion

“Amazing Grace” is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It’s uplifting message tells us that all we need to do is believe. Believe that things will be OK. Believe that the world is a good place. Believe that if we do our best to live a good life, we will be filled with joy and peace…
I believe that the world is a good place. I believe that no matter what terrible things happen, we will persevere. We will continue to live in freedom. No terrorist will ever take that away from us.
Have you heard “Amazing Grace?” Do you like the song? What do you think about the tradedies that took place in the US? Come to the “Music Mix” message board and let us know.
Keep your head up,
Migs
