In the past few years, Apple, a computer company, has become one of the most important players in the music business. First, they introduced the iTunes music player. It was a software program that allowed you to organize and play the mp3’s on your computer.
Then, in 2001 they introduced the iPod portable mp3 player. It quickly became the most popular mp3 player on the market. It also made millions of people in the world more interested in mp3’s.
In 2003, Apple opened their iTunes Music Store. Read on to learn more about it!

The iTunes Music Store (itunes.com) is the best place online to download music. The store features millions of songs by thousands of artists. For example, you can find either single songs or whole albums by everyone from The Beatles and Bob Dylan to OutKast and Justin Timberlake.
The top 5 songs downloaded at iTunes last week:
1. “This Love”
Maroon 5
2. “Toxic”
Britney Spears
3. “Tipsy”
J-Kwon
4. “Hey Ya!”
OutKast
5. “I Fought the Law”
Green Day
The best thing about iTunes is the interface. It’s simple and easy to find the music you’re looking for. Also, they provide cool additional features, like “Staff Favorites” and “Listeners Also Bought,” which help you find new music you’ll probably like.

Discussion

As I mentioned above, I think the iTunes Music Store is the best online music store there is. However, there are others. If you’re interested, you should check out:
real.com/rhapsody and napster.com
Have fun!
