Maroon 5 is a band from Los Angeles made up of 5 guys who make some of the most interesting rock music on the planet. Their first album, Songs About Jane is getting more and more popular every day, due to the success of two great songs: “This Love” and “Harder to Breathe.” Both songs feature the angry voice and lyrics of singer Adam Levine, who has obviously had some painful experiences in the past.

The thing that makes Maroon 5’s music so special is that it’s a mix of rock music and soul music. It’s like a combination of The Rolling Stones and Stevie Wonder. From song to song, the music varies between hardcore emotional expression and light, fun, almost humorous storytelling.
“This Love,” which is currently one of the most popular songs in the U.S., is about a relationship Adam had with a girl. They broke up and he wrote a song which describes his feelings about her. Check out some of the lyrics:

When I heard Maroon 5 for the first time, I wasn’t sure I liked their music. In fact, I actually thought “Harder to Breath” was a song by Justin Timberlake. I thought maybe he had recorded a new rock song. However, the song grew on me, and then when I heard “This Love” I decided that Maroon 5 was worth a closer look. I checked out their website and bought Songs About Jane. Both turned out to be pretty cool.
