In her latest movie, Meryl Streep plays Miranda Priestley, the ruthless editor of a fashion magazine.
The Devil Wears Prada is a comedy that may not compare to some of her other films, like Sophie’s Choice or Adaptation, but critics say she’s still great.
In this movie, Streep’s character hires an assistant, played by Anne Hathaway. Even though the new girl is smart, she has no fashion sense.
Sure, it sounds like a chick flick. But Mason and Kevin both liked it too. Listen as they talk about why they enjoyed this movie.

Mason: All right. I’m man enough to admit that I saw The Devil Wears Prada and I really liked it. I don’t know what that means.
Kevin: And I’m man enough to admit that I completely agree with you.
Mason: Fantastic. Or should I say fabulous?
Kevin: Fabulous. That’s the word, indeed. I thought it was quite entertaining.
Mason: Well, OK, what were some of your favorite parts?
Kevin: Well, I… frankly, I really liked looking at the some of the fashion. I liked the girl’s transformation to, to become very fashionable, and I think she’s beautiful as well. Um, I liked that… actually I, I went out and bought the soundtrack right afterwards on iTunes because I really liked the music.
Mason: I wasn’t paying attention to any of the music.
Kevin: I really liked the music.
Mason: Huh.
Kevin: There’s some really good tunes on it. I really like it. Yeah.
Mason: Interesting. Interesting. Uh, I, uh, you know, I kind of appreciated the fashion, but at a very… I wouldn’t know what the difference is, and I’m kinda sitting there asking myself, “Can’t I get that at Target?” Um…
Kevin: Some of it you can, I think.
Mason: I’m sure I can. But, uh, you know, I loved watching Meryl Streep because she’s…
Kevin: She’s fabulous.
Mason: ...She’s just a phenomenal actress and she, she played such a evil, dehumanized role and yet she found something that you could still connect with.
Kevin: Slightly.
Mason: Yeah. For a moment.
Kevin: A glimpse of humility.

Discussion
When Mason and Kevin say they’re “man enough” to admit that they liked The Devil Wears Prada, they are joking. They are playing with the fact that, because this movie centers around the fashion industry, it may interest more women than men.
“Fabulous” can be used to describe something that is amazing in every way, often in the sense of being in style. Gay men in the US are stereotyped as saying fabulous. For example, “Cher is fabulous!”
Kevin enjoyed the fashion in the movie, and liked the music too.
Mason is a big fan of Meryl Streep and thought she did a great job with her role.
