Last week Zach was lucky enough to go to a Blazer basketball game. Our team is really good this year, which makes them fun to watch. In this conversation, Zach tells Joe about the game.

Zach: Have you been to any Blazer games lately?
Joe: The last Blazer game I went to was the L.A. Kings.
Zach: The Sacramento Kings?
Joe: Oh, yeah. The Sacramento Kings.
Zach: Yeah, that’s what I went to last week.
Joe: No, I didn’t go to that one. I went when they played last time.
Zach: Oh, when we lost?
Joe: Yeah, when we lost. That was about a month ago.
Zach: Erin’s coworkers scored free tickets to the game, so she took me to the game and… I mean, it kind of sucked because Chris Webber was out, but it was just a total blowout and it was so fun just to watch the Blazers run up the score.
Joe: Yeah, it was a pretty floor-running game.
Zach: Yeah. There was this amazing, um, almost like half-court alley-oop dunk that Rasheed did. You know, he was playing really well and then he got of course a double “T” and got thrown out of the game. So, that kind of sucked, but…
Joe: Yep, he lets the game get to him a lot of times.
Zach: Everyone that knows him says he’s the nicest guy. You know, he’s just the total family man and everything, but he just plays with this emotion.

Discussion
The voices are kind of quiet in this conversation, but hopefully you can tell how much Zach likes going to these games. When the team is playing well, it’s fun to be a fan. Look for Portland to win the championship! Do you have a professional sports team in your city? Do you go to watch their games often? Tell us about it at the Life Goes On message board! See you next week!—John
