Hi Friends!
away[/def] for the weekend is a great way to reenergize yourself and revitalize your interest in your normal life. Being away from home makes you realize that there’s a lot of interesting things going on in the world, and it also makes you realize how nice it is to have a place you can call your own.
Josh was lucky enough to take a mini-vacation to San Francisco last weekend. Listen to him tell Migs about his adventures.

Josh

Migs:  Josh, I tried to call you on Saturday to see if, uh, you wanted to go to the Blazer game. Were you, where were you?

Josh:  Oh, I went, uh, down to San Francisco to see a friend actually.

Migs:  Oh, that’s right. How was that?

Josh:  It was awesome. Um, I hadn’t seen this friend in years and he was visiting, uh, from Germany on business, so, uh, uh, it was great to see him, but we also had just a lot of fun in San Francisco.

Migs:  What’d you guys do?

Josh:  The highlight for me was going to Alcatraz. I’ve gone to San Francisco a bunch of times and never made it out to the old prison island, you know, that you see in the movies and everything. So, I thought it would be really fun to do that and it was.

Migs:  Wasn’t it kind of freaky? Like, when I was out there I felt, you know, like it was haunted or something.

Josh:  Well, it’s definitely a scary place. And, I mean, I hadn’t been to… inside any prison before, much less the most famous, you know, prison you can’t escape from, but, so it was definitely creepy.

Migs:  Did you have that guided tour with the headphones and everything?

Josh:  Yeah, it was just like that, “Turn left and walk down the corridor.”

Discussion

Alcatraz sounds like an interesting place! I’ve never been there, but after hearing Josh and Migs talk about it, I’d definitely like to check it out. Alcatraz holds a special place in American history, because many of the worst criminals in history were kept there – including the famous gangster Al Capone.
I hope you get a chance to take a vacation sometime soon. It’s an important thing to do, because it helps you clear your mind and makes you feel more healthy and free.
Have a great week!
