Amy: Is your son ready to go back to school, Dale?
Dale: He’s in preschool, so he’s actually slowly getting used to it. But myself, I was so eager to start school.
Amy: Really? So you would actually look forward to the fall and the start of school?
Dale: I used to always plan out my outfits for the very first week, Monday through Friday.
Amy: Yeah, I do remember that, picking out a special outfit to wear on the first day of school, that was always fun. And I liked to get my school supplies to and arranging them, getting them all ready. Even now, I’m a teacher, and it is exciting to have that fresh start at the beginning of the year.
Dale: You know, that fresh start goes with making those new friends. That was the best part, meeting new people in a close setting that quickly. Like you had to get to know people right away.
Amy: It’s true. But there’s also that nervousness of what if I get a bad teacher, or I’m not in a class I like.
Dale: Oh yeah.
Amy: Are you excited to go, like, buy Dash a backpack and get him all set up?
Dale: Oh yeah!
Amy: Is he gonna be a cool kid on the first day?
Dale: I hope so, ‘cause I always thought I was. So I want him to be!
