We all wish we had more money. It’s possible that no one thinks they have enough. If you don’t have enough money, you might end up starving. Some people are very lucky when it comes to making money. Maybe their parents have a basement packed full of random stuff. One day, they discover an old painting buried under a pile of books. Perhaps this painting is by Salvador Dali, and it’s worth $30,000. They were sitting on a gold mine, and didn’t know it!
When someone is sitting on a gold mine, this means that they have a great opportunity or own something very valuable. For example, maybe you are very smart and think you have discovered a way to travel back in time. If this is true, you could make a bit of money. You’ll be sitting on a gold mine.
Andy wants to get to the park early, so they have a good seat for the celebration. He thinks they are sitting on a gold mine. Do you think his friends agree? Watch and find out.

Andy_H: Oh, hey! You all made it!
Jordin: Andy, there is no one here!
Andy_H: Well, that’s kind of the point. We got the best seat in the house. We’re sitting on a gold mine here, people!
Kelsey: When does this start?
Andy_H: Basically, whenever it gets dark. But you’ll see, this place is going to be packed full of people here in a bit!
Dominique: Whatever you say, Andy.
Kelsey: Cool! Well, I’m excited!
Jordin: Well, I’m bored. What are we going to do for the next 4-ish hours?!
Dominique: We eat! That’s why I brought the picnic.
Andy_H: Good idea, I’m starving! Like, so hungry! Like, really, really hungry.
Jordin: Are you sure we’re sitting on a gold mine? If we move over a bit, the trees may not be in our way.
Andy_H: Oh, you’re right. Well, maybe, we could move over a bit. Dang! Too late.
Kelsey: What if we move back a little bit? Then, we can see over that tree.
Andy_H: OK, you’re right. It’s weird. I didn’t even see those trees when I was… Huh, that’s weird.
Dominique: How did you not see the trees, Andy? Maybe, we can move over… Nevermind.
Andy_H: This is really weird. I mean, there’s plenty of space, but I…
Kelsey: You said it’s a gold mine! Let’s have a picnic.
Andy_H: Right! I’m starving! Typical!

Andy is napping on a blanket, and wakes up to find Kelsey, Jordin, and Dominique staring at him. He is happy they all made it to the park. Jordin points out that no one else is there. Andy says that’s the point. They are sitting on a gold mine with the best seat in the house! Dominique suggests that they have a picnic, but Jordin isn’t so sure they are sitting on a gold mine.
Andy starts to move to a different spot, but a woman sits down in their way. He tries to move back instead, but the same woman sits down behind them. He tries to move to a third spot, but then the exact same woman sits there, too! Andy opens the cooler to get some food, but it’s completely empty. All the girls eerily laugh at him. He wakes up to realize it was all a strange, strange dream. Whew!
Have you had any strange dreams lately? Did any of your dreams help you realize that you are sitting on a gold mine?
