On Sunday night, the Academy Awards show was held in Hollywood, California. The movie awards, also known as “The Oscars”, are always a lot of fun to watch because so many movie stars are in attendance.
Read on to find out what Tanis and Migs thought of this year’s show.

Migs |
Migs: Tanis, did you get a chance to watch the Oscars last night?
Tanis: Miguel, I would never, ever miss the Academy Awards.
Migs: So, were you happy with the results?
Tanis: Actually, I was. I really enjoyed it. I saw A Beautiful Mind and I fell in love with it. I just thought it was a great movie. And, I was really happy that it, uh, won Best Picture, and that, and that Jennifer Connelly won the Best Supporting Actress. But, I did not like her dress!
Migs: What did you think about Halle Berry’s dress? I thought she looked good.
Tanis: I thought she looked great, and I was really happy that she won. Although, she was a bit overly emotional.
Migs: Didn’t it seem honestly emotional though?
Tanis: It totally did. It did. It just went on for so long that I, I kinda felt embarrassed for her.
Migs: Yeah, it was a little embarrassing, but it brought a tear to my eye just because she was so, so happy and so overwhelmed and literally seemed like she couldn’t believe it was happening to her. So, what guys did you think looked good?
Tanis: Um, Ryan Philippe, and um, I think Denzel Washington’s tux was really nice. And I thought Will Smith looked really good. And, Tom Cruise, what is he doing with braces? I don’t know, but it’s wrong.
Migs: He had braces and it looked like he hadn’t shaved in a few days and he’s supposed to be a clean-cut guy. He does not look good without shaving.

Discussion
It sounds like Tanis and Migs had a fun time watching the Oscars. They were both very excited about the way the actors and actresses looked and what they were wearing.
One of my favorite parts about watching the Oscars are the short films shown during the show. They are shown in between the awards and highlight an actor’s or actress’ career or a movie theme.
If you didn’t get a chance to watch the Academy Awards last Sunday, here’s a list of the main Oscar winners:
Best Picture: A Beautiful Mind
Best Actor: Denzel Washington
Best Actress: Halle Berry
Best Supporting Actor: Jim Broadbent
Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Connelly
Best Director: Ron Howard
Were any of your favorites chosen? Are you happy that A Beautiful Mind won Best Picture? Tell me about it in the Movie Madness message board.
See ya next week,
Nedra
