Emergency! Since the beginning of the last century – i.e. since the population of Malawi started getting poorer and poorer due to colonization and such things – there has been an extensive use of wood in this country. Especially cedars got cut down, because their wood is very strong and resistant while at the same time soft enough to get prepared. Due to this overuse of wood the muranje cedar now is critically endangered, because this tree can be found in Malawi only.
The organization “IUCN” tries to save this tree while at the same time accepting online donations. However volunteers can also send (online) donations to the organizations you can read about on “http://www.rippleafrica.org/environment-projects-in-malawi-africa/tree-planting-africa” and “http://www.worldlandtrust-us. By doing so you will help nature as well as human beings.

Just joking! I just started finding it boring to just copy photos and then put them on my profile. So I decided to make a change and draw something on my computer. All the names shown in this photo are specimens of critically endangered plants.
Among some other more familiar organisations like IUCN, WWF or Greenpeace, Worldlandtrust ( “http://www.worldlandtrust-us” ) fights for the survival of these plants – also by giving people the chance of getting involved, too.
