Nedra: So Joe, I hear you’re a DJ.
Joe: Yes, I am.
Nedra: Where have you done your work at?
Joe: Oh boy. I’ve DJ’d a bunch of different clubs in Portland and I’ve also DJ’d, um, different cities in the United States. I’ve DJ’d in Miami before. I’ve DJ’d in Los Angeles. Not overseas though.
Nedra: What was the best time you had DJing? What city?
Joe: I would say that that would probably be Portland, and I, I got the opportunity to DJ, um – The Artist Formerly Known as Prince – I got a chance to DJ his after party. I met Prince, and I met the whole New Power Generation…
Nedra: Oh my gosh!
Joe: ...and I got their autographs for the whole New Power Generation. It was great.
Nedra: Wow! That’s awesome.
Joe: It was great. It wasn’t anything that was planned either. I ran into a friend of mine that owned a club after the concert and he didn’t have anybody to DJ, so he asked me, “Did I want to DJ?” And I said, “Yes.”
Nedra: So it was a good opportunity?
Joe: Yes. It was tremendous. I mean, that was like one of my most memorable times DJing.
Nedra: And you’re still doing it?
Joe: Yes I am. I more host events now than like actually DJ at a club.
Nedra: Great. Well, I’d like to see you sometime if I can.
